Jesus Welcomes Children
“Gather the people; prepare a holy meet-ing; assemble the elders; gather the chil-dren, even nursing infants.” Joel 2:16
God created play. Play brings joy. Simple toys and the coloring or puzzles in children’s bulletins help young children participate in the service in a way that makes sense to them. (And helps them be quiet.) Our children’s bulletins have a Bible verse or theme to go with the sermon.
Ushers have children’s bulletins for older children.
Busy bags can be picked up on a rack by the center aisle.
Grace Space is on the front left side of the sanctuary.
Nursery is offered 8:15-12:00 every Sunday.
During the 10:45 service children Pre K – 3rd Grade are learning to worship God in several ways. They begin each week with their families and have a special message from the Pastor. On the first Sunday of the month, they stay for the whole service. The other Sundays there is a Worship Center for Pre K – K and one for 1st and 2nd graders. They sing, pray, and engage in a Bible story differently than in Sunday School. They participate in worship that helps them grow to love and respond to God at their developmental level. The 3rd graders are having lessons explaining the components of worship in the United Methodist Church. As part of their learning experience the 3rd graders observed the many people who serve in different roles during our services and acted as assistant ushers. I have been impressed how engaged children are as they come to Jesus through these opportunities. Please feel free to contact Children’s Ministry Coordinator: Colleen Bajema: email@example.com
