  • reverend Brad Bartelmay

    Lead Pastor ξ€€β€Š

    Brad was born and raised in the greater Youngstown, Ohio area and is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a degree in Geology and Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois with a Master of Divinity degree. He is an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church and a past recipient of the Denman Evangelism Award. Brad enjoys the outdoors, has been a backpacker, camper, and hiker since childhood, and has explored national and regional parks across North America. He also enjoys cooking and is an avid reader. His wife Sherri is also a pastor and they have three sons.

  • reverend Tania Dozeman

    Pastor of engagement ξ€€β€Šβ€Š 

    Tania is a provisional elder in the United Methodist Church and received her Master's of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical in May of 2018. She has an undergraduate degree from Hope College and and a master's degree in counseling education/counseling psychology from Western Michigan University. Prior to the unearthing of a call to ministry, she worked in public education as a teacher and as a school counselor. Tania is married to Ted and has two kids, and one very sweet dog. She is passionate about helping people develop their spiritual lives through creative and contemplative expressions.

  • Reverend Luanne stanley Hook

    Director of community Involvement and Youth ξ€€β€Šβ€Š

    LuAnne is a provisional deacon in the United Methodist Church. She is a native Hoosier who has lived in Tennessee and Utah, and has called Michigan "home" since 2000. She has an undergraduate degree from DePauw University, and a Master of Divinity from the Divinity School at Vanderbilt University. Before joining the staff at FUMC Holland, LuAnne worked in various areas of social work and counseling. LuAnne is married to Tim, and has two sons who are in college. She enjoys reading, crafts, traveling, nature, and chocolate, not necessarily in that order.   

  • DAvid Newton

    Worship Arts Director ξ€€β€Š

    David was born and raised in Western Illinois before coming to Holland. He is a graduate of Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and has a degree in Music Ministry. Prior to being called to serve in music ministry, he served as an Architectural Historian with the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency. David enjoys history, architecture, visiting National Parks, and walking around the Holland area. You may seem him walking around town with many of his friends from the Evergreen Striders walking group. 

  • Colleen Bajema

    Children Ministries Coordinator ξ€€β€Š

    Colleen has an undergraduate degree from Hope College and a master's degree in elementary education from Purdue University. She ahs worked as an Elementary Ministry Coordinator and has taught children of all ages in both regular, special, and Christian Education. Colleen is married to Mark and has two adult sons, a newly married daughter, and a son who attends school in Zeeland. Colleen enjoys listening to audio books, spending time at the lakeshore, and visiting her kids in Fort Wayne, Louisville, and San Diego. 

  • Paul Reissman

    Student Pastor ξ€€β€Š

    Paul is a certified candidate for ministry in the Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church. He is currently attending Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary and is working towards ordination as an elder. Born and raised in Bangor, MI, Paul is married to Ashleigh Reissman and has lived in the Holland area since October 2017. He is also a graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor's of Arts in both Creative Writing and Communication Studies. Paul enjoys gaming -board games, card games, and other games - and sees games as tools from which the Kingdom can be built and enjoyed.   

  • Lloyd Helder, MD

    Congregational Care Team ξ€€β€Š

    Lloyd grew up on a small dairy farm between Holland and Zeeland and attended Hope College between morning and afternoon milking. He graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School. Early during Lloyd's pediatric residency in Grand Rapids, he met his wife Cindy. Following two years of Pediatric practice in the Air Force, their family settled in Central Michigan in the city of Mt. Pleasant. After 32 years of pediatric practice in Mt. Pleasant MI and Midland, MI, Lloyd's interests turned to senior citizens. Lloyd now assists with visiting those in need of pastoral care at First.  

  • Kathy LIndstromβ€Š

    Kids Hope Director ξ€€β€Š

    Kathy was raised in the small town of Standish, Mi. She received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Saginaw Valley State University. She worked for some small businesses in Standish before moving to Saginaw, where she met her husband Dave. They moved to Holland in 1997 and Kathy worked as an accounting clerk at Haworth until 2000. She then spent 9 years as a stay at home mom for their two boys, Aaron and Ryan. She currently works at Elhart Automotive as an accounting clerk, in addition to directing the Kid's Hope program at First. Kathy loves working with kids and enjoys camping, traveling, and reading.

  • Sarah DeLany

    EArly childhood Center Coordinator ξ€€β€Š

    Sarah is currently attending Grand Rapids Community College for general education courses before transferring to a four-year university. In the United Methodist Church and as a member of the United Methodist Women, Sarah has worked with children of all ages at local, district, and conference events. She also has worked as a nanny and regular babysitter for over ten years. Sarah enjoys reading all types of books, writing picture books and novels, art--mostly painting, some fashion design, lots of graphic design--doing crafts, and dreaming of what's to come next. Sarah has found some of the best lessons come from the little ones. 

  • Erin Glutting

    Administrative Coordinator ξ€€β€Š

    Erin was born and raised in the Detroit area. In her late teen years, she had a profound conversion from being a religious person to one who delights in knowing God intimately. She attended Ferris State University and attained undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Information Systems. Prior to working at First, Erin had a variety of computer, accounting, and office jobs located throughout Michigan. In addition to raising three sons, she assisted her husband in mission work for 35 years. Erin enjoys the outdoors, gardening, and animals. 

  • Julia Collingsworth

    Organist and Choir Director ξ€€β€Š

    At age nine, Julia became the Sunday School accompanist at her home church. Six years later she began her career as a church organist and has been a church organist and choir director ever since. She double majored at Western Michigan University in Elementary Education and Music Education, and later went back for a Master of Music degree. She has a second Master's degree in Family and Child Ecology from Michigan State University. Her career has included teaching classroom and music in K-12 and more recently, social work, specifically child welfare. Julia has four adult daughters, four adult stepchildren, and 19 grandchildren. Her hobby is finding host families for, and supervising, high school age international exchange students. 


  • Kent Jagnow

    Treasurer and Financial Secretary ξ€€β€Š

    Kent has been with First since 1999 and is the Church Treasurer and Financial Secretary. He is married to Mary, has four children, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Prior to joining First, Kent served in the United States Air Force, graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in accounting, and spent most of his career in finance as a Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Finance at Metal Flow Corporation. He enjoys gardening, model building, reading, and enjoying time with his wife. He also loves challenging the status quo.
