Eclipse Youth Ministry Highlights
A big THANK YOU to all of you who are participating in our $10-for-10 campaign to raise money for church camp scholarships and mission trips! Each child or youth who goes to church camp has to pay $400 or more for the week, and the half scholarships provided by our church really help out those families. Mission trips run even higher, when all of the “extras” like rental vans and food on the road are added in. These experiences are so important in the faith formation of our young people, and your support makes it possible for so many more to participate!
Sunday, February 5, Both groups—SUPER BOWL PARTY, 6:00 p.m. at the Hook house, 6618 Butternut Drive, phone: 994-0085. Please meet in the unfenced storage unit parking lot across the street and we’ll come and get you to avoid congestion on the driveway. Please bring an appetizer and drink to share so that we can nosh while we watch! This will be our dinner. Middle schoolers may stay until half-time, and senior highs until the game ends or you need to leave. Come and play games even if you only want to watch the commercials!
Sunday, February 12: Both groups, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at church. Middle schoolers, scrounge together as many pennies as you can for our Lincoln Day event! Ask your parents, friends, etc. and bring a bunch! We’ll donate them to the bread pan offering for Cass Community Services after we have some fun with them first. High schoolers, dress warmly and wear warm shoes/boots, ‘cause we’ve got deliveries to make! This evening could run late for high school.
Sunday, February 19, Both groups, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at church. Middle schoolers, dress to be outdoors and bring a snow shovel for us to bless the neighborhood. High school will be indoors.
Sunday, February 26, Both groups, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at church.
Sunday, March 12, YOUTH “THANK YOU DINNER” to end $10-for-10! All senior high youth needed to prep food on Saturday (watch for times) and all youth needed to help cook, serve and clean up on Sunday after second service. Each youth family is asked to bring a 9X13 pan of a homemade dessert, or the equivalent. Let’s let the congregation know how much we appreciate their support of church camps and mission trips!
Confirmation Class information meeting, 9:30 a.m. in The Well (church basement). All current 8th graders, as well as older youth who are not confirmed yet are invited to join us. Parents, please also attend this meeting. We will present more information about the confirmation class experience this year, as well as get schedule information from you.
