De Vries Photography has offered to help us with an online pictorial directory that would be on our website. You can choose to have your picture taken downtown in their studio on 8th street (parking spots in the back) or we will arrange to have your picture taken here at church. This will take place in November of 2008. For snowbirds who are leaving before that, we can arrange to have your picture taken earlier. S

Some of the advantages are:

• No one has to buy their picture but they will keep your picture on file there for years so if a picture is needed in the future, they would release it
• As people have their picture taken in the studio, they will ask what they want to release under their picture such as activities in the church, hobbies, email, etc.
• These pictures would be password protected so that anyone who came to our website would not be able to see these pictures
• We can have other pictures on our website from activities at our church that would also be password protected
• About 60% of you that have your pictures taken usually buy something so that is why De Vries Photography can offer this.
• The staff had their pictures taken recently and had a good experience with it. Watch for more details as this project unfolds!

• Visit the prayer room on Ash Wednesday or any day the church is open during Lent. You will find some meditation materials, a place to leave some prayer concerns, and a Tent for your table at home called Lenten Prayers for Hungry People
• Come to one of the Ash Wednesday services - one early in the morning before work at 7:00 a.m. or one in the evening at 7:00 p.m. in back of the sanctuary
• Join the new member class that is joining on February 17th by contacting Mary De Ridder at 396-5205 or email her at mderidder@fumcholland.org
• Sign up to have a new updated directory of church members. There is a clipboard on the sign-up table at the back of the sanctuary or call the church office at 396-5205. This will be distributed in February.
•  Sign up for the prayer chain by contacting Dorothy Chamness at 396-3292 or Barb Webber at 399-3547. You can either receive the prayer letter by email or be on a calling list or have the concerns mailed to you.
• Sign up for the "Can I Help You" greeter at the door by calling the church office.

2008 FUMC Directories are Coming!

We will be printing a new directory in February (no photos). If you have changed your address or will be soon, please let the office know. Also let us know if you would like your cell phone number, email address and/or your alternate (winter/summer) address included.
