Justice For Our Neighbors

The Mission of JFON is:

  • To provide free, high-quality, immigration legal services and a warm welcome to immigrants in our congregations and communities and at the same time encourage cross-cultural community building.
  • To promote education for ministry and advocacy as an integral part of the JFON program and to encourage deeper theological reflection on biblical imperatives that clarify the moral issues raised by US immigration policy and by our nations treatment of newcomers.

What is Justice for our Neighbors (JFON)?

In 2004 the First United Methodist Church of Holland applied to become a satellite clinic location for Justice for Our Neighbors program in support of the JFON program that exists in Grand Rapids. JFON is able to provide professional legal counseling for immigration matters at no cost to the client.

The mission of Justice for our Neighbors is two-fold:

  • Provide high-quality immigration legal services and a warm welcome to our community.
  • Foster greater cross-cultrual community building and deeper moral reflection about the justness of current U.S. immigration policies through education for mission and advocacy.

If interested in an appointment at the clinic, call (616)396-5595.
